While belaying from the top of several climbs |

During a climbing weekend at Joshua Tree National Park it became obvious that The North Face had shifted its marketing away from outdoor athletes in favor of the weekend warthe north face jacket rior. Most gear that would be classified by price and function as "performance" gear is cut with a slim, athletic fit. Not so with the Denali. It is cut larger in the chest and stomach in proportion to the arms. While belaying from the top of several climbs, the wind kicked up and it performed adequately but even when closed, the pit-zips allowed too much air flow which offset the moderate warmth of the fleece itself. While the fit was not ideal, the materials of the jacket seemed very durable and it held up to plenty of abrasion and being stuffed in packs and kicked around. Light snow and precipitation were no the north face jacket problem for the Denali but would be an issue if they went beyond the realm of trivial. Layering over it with a shell jacket proved to be awkward, restrictive and bulky which significantly decreased its versatility. 本日志相关的主题:
