But is the mix of shorts and Uggs — thick sheepskin boots — fashionably actionable?
Dan Wentz thinks so, and is trying to rally the people of Tuscaloosa to his cause, pushing a petition to ban the combo platter.
“It’s a trend I want to curtail,” said Wentz, fitness shoes, relatively new to town,MBT Sport Shoes, having moved here about three months ago to become promotions director for radio station 94.1 (FM) ZBQ. He’s originally from Pennsylvania, and worked in Mobile and Panama City Beach, Fla. previously.
“We didn’t even have this up north, even though we have snow and could actually use them,MBT Chapa,” he said. “Just driving around campus here is unlike anything I’ve seen anywhere else.”
But Ava Kelley, a recent University of Alabama graduate who moved to Wentz’s old stomping grounds, disagrees.
“I am telling you, those Penn State girls are wearing less,” she said. “My theory is that it’s a testament to the design of women’s legs. You know, that’s where we keep the stores, and that just happens to insulate us from the bitter Alabama cold. Or Pennsylvania cold.”
