"The real story is that Adobe's managed the business well during the downturn," said Edward Jones analyst Andy Miedler, ad href="http://www.discount-adobe.com">acrobat 9 proding, "It's nice to see some improving demand."
Shares of Adobe rose slightly to $36.57 in after-hours trading, following the earnings announcement.
"We've succeeded in navigating thadobe acrobatrough a difficult environment,"
Adobe Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen said during a conference call with analysts. Narayen added that the company has
"experienced an improvement in customer demand."
Sales of Adobe's flagshiadobe acrobat 9p product, Creative Suite 4, have been
undercut by the economic downturn. CS4 was released late last year, just as the economic crisis began spreading.
